You don't have to do it alone
As an indie writer, I know the difficulties of finding people to support you in your writing. I was blessed enough to have people around me that shared critique and brought my writing forward. I want to give the same, as well as the things I have learned writing and publishing over 10 novels. I am not a gatekeeper for your writing, only you hold the publishing rights to what you have written. My goal is to come alongside you and elevate your writing to the best it can be.
In this age of growing AI use, I push for human creativity on both ends: I do not use AI for any of my writing or editing and I will not work with authors who do.
Service Breakdown
I offer 3 types of editing: developmental, line, and proofreading.
Developmental Editing (.006 per word) focuses on the whole scope of the story or work, meaning I will be make notes and starting a dialogue with you about themes, characters, and storyline.
Examples:
5,000 words = $30
25,000 words = $150
100,000 words = $600
Line Editing (.005 per word) is a line-by-line examination of your style, voice, and general prose. This mode of editing is not meant to change your voice but develop and strengthen it.
Examples:
5,000 words = $25
25,000 words = $125
100,000 words = $500
Proofreading (.004 per word) focuses on the ‘error’ realm: grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.
Examples:
5,000 words = $20
25,000 words = $100
100,000 words = $400
If you decide to join all 3 services, the cost will be .01 per word. This is the most cohesive and well-rounded editing package.
Examples:
$50 for a 5,000 word short story.
$250 for a 25,000 word novella.
$1,000 for a 100,000 word novel.
Genres I WON’T do
No erotica, heavy romance, or gratuitously graphic content. I Will not help you write Fifty Shades of Gray or ACOTAR.
Genres I specialize in
Literary fiction, fantasy, short stories, creative nonfiction. I Would love to help you write your memoir, The Call of Cthulhu, or The Outsiders.
Disclosure
I am not in any way responsible for the marketing or publishing of your work. It is your job to take what we work on together to the next phase: publication and marketing.
This is a position that requires feedback and clarity. If you are not prepared to have questions asked about your work or if you are already certain it is good enough, this may not be a wise investment.
Submission Process
Send at least 1,000 words of your writing (not the whole document yet). If accepted, I will sample my services on the submitted file and send it back. You can then decide if you would like to move forward.
Expect up to 5 business days before receiving a sample.
